Goals
The initial brief for D-Tec’s new website was to create a website with new content and a custom design that appealed to their target market and created a point of difference with their competitors.
A key outcome from this redevelopment was to update their brand to reflect D-Tec’s status as a trustworthy and knowledgeable service provider in the area. We needed to ensure that the brand was clearly defined as professional, trustworthy and experienced within the pest control industry.
One of the ways we did this was by highlighting those unique selling points (USPs) that make D-Tec stand head and shoulders above their competition. The USPs included winning multiple pest control awards, as well as local and national general business awards. The fact that they also use the latest pest control technology needed to be highlighted, as did their guarantee of an immediate response to specific pest control problems.
Another essential requirement was that the website needed to be designed so that it was easy to navigate, due to the amount of information provided. Additionally, there needed to be a clear pathway for visitors to locate D-Tec’s contact details or ask for a free quote.
Essentially, D-Tec needed to increase their online visibility so that potential customers could easily find their website and contact them for further information or make a booking. These improvements would ultimately lead to an increased number of enquiries, lower acquisition costs, higher revenues, and less time spent on the sales and quoting process.
Solution
To rapidly increase the leads generated via the website, the team at GO Creative needed to address the failings of their old DIY website. The initial problem was that the website was created using an old outdated free template that lacked functionality and aesthetic appeal. Redesigning the website using this template wasn’t going to provide the right outcome, so the decision was made to develop a brand new site tailored to D-Tec’s specific needs.
Further considerations revolved around the website’s functionality, as well as the quality of the written content and images. The ability to further engage visitors with a well written blog was also a priority. To achieve all these goals, the website needed to be modern, fast, and optimised for search engines so that the business’s online visibility was maximised.
We redeveloped the website using WordPress, and the process included rewriting most of the content so that it was geared towards the target market, and creating a custom design for the same reason. The new website ties in flawlessly with D-Tec’s existing branding materials and focuses on creating strong and clear calls-to-action across the website.
Results
Once the newly developed website was launched, mid-December 2020, almost overnight, D-Tec saw their traffic increase by 150%. By the end of January 2021, their enquiries had increased by 237% compared to January 2020. The average visit time per visitor also increased from 39 seconds to 51 seconds, demonstrating that the new content and design greatly increased engagement rates.

While their revenue has already increased, D-Tec has also enjoyed a number of cost efficiencies that have evolved from this new website. The main benefit is that because a lot of the information on the website is now easier to find and read, there are less questions from new enquiries. And, because the new WordPress website is specifically designed to encourage visitors to contact D-Tec and make a booking via clear and consistent calls-to-action, the cost of each new lead is lower, in both time and money.
