We need that extra information in order to back up the existing site and upload the new one. And, of course, it’s important that business owners know this information for their own purposes.

- The user names and passwords to your CMS (such as WordPress, Joomla, Drupal or CMS Made Simple).
- The login details for your hosting accounts.

- Don’t rely on employees to remember this information or to keep it safe for you. If they leave you won’t be able to login to your website and they might not keep these details as safe as you would like anyway.
- Give everyone their own login details, so you know who has logged in and when. This is also useful for when an employee leaves the business — you can simply disable their account without affecting anyone else.
Also, remember, anyone with your hosting account login details can potentially shut down your website and emails. So once you have given these details to someone, once they have finished their job and no longer need access to your website, change your login details and keep your website safe and secure at all times.
